As a severe cleanliness enthusiast who always brings a disposable four piece bedding set when staying in a hotel, I came to Xizhimen, Beijing to explore the alleys and booked Joy Inn & Suites (Beijing Xizhimen) with a try it out attitude. After staying for three consecutive nights, I packed my own bedding into my suitcase, which exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness.
As soon as I opened the door, I let go of half of my guard. There were no unfamiliar odors that would come knocking at me as soon as I entered the hotel. The cleanliness of the bathroom exceeded my expectations. The glass partition with dry and wet separation was wiped clean and transparent, without any water stains or scale. There were no black mold spots in the corners and gaps of the shower area. The anti slip pad I stepped on felt dry and fluffy, without the sticky feeling of being stuffy for a long time. The mirror of the washbasin is spotlessly clean, the faucet and basin are bright enough to reflect human figures, and even the position of the water outlet is cleaned thoroughly, without any residual hair. The towels and bath towels provided by the hotel feel soft to the touch, without any odor or yellowing or hardening marks. I scanned them with a fluorescent pen and the values were completely within the safe range. I was not worried about wrapping them directly on my body.
During these three days of stay, every day when I went out and came back, my room was tidied up and refreshed. My camera and laptop lying on the table have been gently sorted into clean corners, so I won't casually flip over my personal belongings. All the garbage in the trash can has been cleared away, and the floor has been mopped with a disinfectant mop. Even my hair that accidentally fell into the gaps in the carpet has been cleaned up. Once I accidentally spilled coffee on the carpet. After calling it to the front desk, a staff member with professional cleaning tools came up in less than ten minutes. Not only did they clean the coffee stains to no trace, but they also disinfected the surrounding carpet, leaving no odor.
As a cleanliness enthusiast who travels abroad all year round, it's really rare to see such solid hygiene details after staying in so many hotels in the city. Joy Inn & Suites (Beijing Xizhimen) does not have flashy internet celebrity decorations, but it has achieved the ultimate cleanliness. Even someone like me who always carries a full set of disposable items when going out can walk barefoot in the room with peace of mind.
